National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology

 

The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology is an Apex autonomous Body under the Ministry of Tourism for ensuring co-coordinated growth and development of hospitality Education in the country. Its objective is to provide well trained professionals to meet the growing requirements of the industry by organizing programmes at Management, Supervisory and Craft levels in the field of Hotel Management, Catering and allied crafts. It also acts as the main policy making body for this purpose. The Council also functions as a professional body conducting examinations and conferring recognition and accreditation for professional merit.
The Council has on its Board of Governors/representatives of the Ministries/ Departments of Food, Labor, Tourism, Education and also Finance of the Government of India and also representatives of hotel industry, experts, professionals and educationalists.                                                
 

The Council, at present, has under its umbrella a network of 51 comprising of 21 central IHM’s, 12 State IHM’s and 19 Private Institutes Institutes of Hotel Management apart from Food Craft Institutions located in different parts of the country.
The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology is today geared to play a key role in creating a modern and model hospitality education training system in India to meet the varied and changing requirements of manpower of the Indian Hotel & Catering Industry and to meet the challenges of international technological developments.
